Your Brain Lies
StartAn entry point. Not a solution.
Brief explanation
Your brain is a survival tool. It is not designed to make you happy — it is designed to keep you alive.
That means it lies. Actively. It overdramatizes dangers, tells you that you are not ready, that you will fail, that others are judging you — all to keep you safe and quiet.
Braincontrol is not an app that fixes you. It is a map and a compass. The map shows you the terrain — patterns, mechanisms and what is actually happening in your head. The compass points in a direction. But you are the one who has to walk.
My story
I built this app because I was stuck in a loop I didn't understand. My energy was gone and refused to recharge, no matter how much I slept. I tried for 18 months.
I went through the psychiatric system looking for a map and a compass — not a diagnosis. What I needed was to understand what was happening in my body and brain, and how to get out of it.
The best advice I got, and what probably saved my life, was: try to spend your time doing what you love most. It helped me accept the days I was too tired to do anything, without criticizing myself for being lazy.
This is not made up. It is not laziness. And it helped me accept it.
Deeper insight
Neuroplasticity means the brain can change. But it does not happen automatically — it happens through repetition, awareness and effort over time.
There is no shortcut. There is also no app, book or therapist that can do the work for you. What exists is insight and practice — and the choice to use it.
- Amygdala: your fire alarm — reacts before you think
- Prefrontal cortex: the rational part — can be trained
- Cognitive distortions: patterns the brain uses to take shortcuts
- Self-regulation: a skill, not a personality trait
